My Cell Phone is Slow - android
Sunday, July 17, 2011 Posted by Aman Jain
You might tap the browser picture and have to wait a full minute for the browser to open. Or you might press the home button while browsing the Internet and have to wait for what seems forever to return to the home screen.
The most common reason is that program on your phone is not releasing the resources properly. Your phone has a limited amount of memory.
Every time you use a program like Gmail , the program occupies some space in memory and uses them to do things such as display text on the screen. Usually when you close a program it releases all the memory back into the pool.
However sometimes the program holds on to the memory. and if you have too many programs holding up the memory the memory pool will eventually become empty and if that happens no new program would be able to grab enough memory to run well.
The solution to this problem is reboot your phone.
If rebooting does not able to solve your problem , a recently installed program is causing your phone to run slowly. start with the last application you installed and uninstall it.
After you uninstall one application , reboot your phone and see if the phone performs faster.
If not uninstall the next most recently installed application, reboot and try again. If after uninstalling a handful of applications , your phone is still not performing well you need to completely reset the phone.

how to clean your cd or dvd?-Full Post
Thursday, October 16, 2008 Posted by Aman Jain
1.Follow the manufacturer's instructions for using a cleaner. In any case, put thecleaner on your cloth first, not on the CD itself
2. Hold the disc by its edges and center hole.
3. Use an anti-static cloth to wipe across the CD with your other hand
4.Work from inside to outside in straight lines, not circles.
5. Wipe until the CD is clean and dry.
Warnings
These are the important warnings to be cautious of.
1. DO NOT use household washing materials such as windex.
2. DO NOT wipe in circles.
3. DO NOT spray cleaning fluid directly on the CD.
Wiping
This is the more common method to cleaning a CD. First, the materials you will need:
anti static cloth (if possible)
CD cleaner (optional)
water
If it's not possible to get an anti static cloth a fine cloth or very fine tissue will do.
The method starts with putting your liquid of choice (cleaning fluid or water) on your cloth.IMPORTANT!!!DO NOT SPRAY LIQUID ON THE CD!!!
Next, you will need to wipe the CD in an outward pattern. NOT IN CIRCLES. Wipe from in to out until the CD is dry and clean.
Hopefully this instructable will help you clean your damaged CDs.
Toothpaste method
This method is done by gently rubbing a layer of toothpaste over the disk. Then, you are to wait 5 minutes. After the time has passed, gently wipe off the toothpaste under running water.
Even after cleaning, a disc may fail to play properly because of scratches.
Some companies manufacture products which are designed to resurface discs, smoothing out
scratches so that they will play again. Depending on how severe the damage is, these products
can be quite effective, but it is a good idea to back up the data as soon as you have repaired the
disc, in case it fails again.
How to Shrink your Drive's Partition
Sunday, October 12, 2008 Posted by Aman Jain
New computers usually come with a single partition (mostly the ’C’ drive). But at time you need to mange your important
This involves backing up existing data, repartitioning the drive and reinstalling the entire operating system. What if you need to install an additional operating system (such as Linux or anther version of Windows) on your computer? You would need anther partition, right?
Usually, to partition the hard drive with reformatting it, you need to use special disk partitioning
Tools such as Partition Magic or Partition Manager. If
You’re a Windows
Make sure that the partitioning process is not interrupted in any way (power failures or accidental resets), as that would cause permanent damage to your data. Also, if possible, experiment with the process on a spare drive before you attempt it on the main drive
Step 1:Computer Management
To begin the resizing process, write-click on ‘My Computer’
And click ‘Mange’ A computer management window opens
Up. To the left of the window expand the ‘Storage’ section and select ‘Disk Management’. This is displays all the drives and volumes available on your computer
Step 2:Select your drive
Select the drive to be resized, write-click on it and select ‘Shrink Volume’ from the context menu. This will display information on the total disk space and shrinkable amount of space available on the drive.
Now, select the capacity you need to shrink by and add the remaining free space another volume. Note that the available shrink space will always be lower than the amount of exiting data on the disk. Therefore you can resize the volume depending on the amount of free space. Select the amount of space that needs to be shrunk, and then click ‘Shrink’.
In some cases, the amount of shrinkable space is limited as windows
Step 4:New Volume
Shrinking the volume might take a while, as this depends on the amount of data and the size of the partitions the exist.
After the process is complete, a new partition created on the drive. Now, crate anew volume and format it or use it for Linux.
The procedure can be reversed by extending the volume to, if you want to merge the to partitions again. But before you begin, remember to play it safe; make sure that you back up all your important data to an external drive and try this workshop at your own risk!.
Play non playable audio and video files
Sunday, October 12, 2008 Posted by Aman Jain
Digital data (such as audio and video) needs to be compressed (encoded) before transmission and
decompressed (decoded) before playback . The encoding
and decoding is done by a program called a ’Codec’. Each
media file format requires a codec .VLC media player
supports many codecs and hence it can play almost any media file .If you use another media player than it would
be a good idea to download and install the K-Lite Codec pack, which is a library of most codecs.

How to convert movies for your iPhone
Saturday, September 15, 2007 Posted by Aman Jain
Apple iPhone
It's easy to buy videos designed to view on those little screens, of course, but if you want to get your own DVDs and Web movies onto your iPod or iPhone, you'll have to dive into the wide world of video converters. The first thing you should know is that most commercial DVDs are copyright-protected and to break that copyright protection is a legal violation in many countries, including the U.S. The second thing to know is that iTunes itself is a decent converting tool. Simply select a file from your video list, right-click it, and choose "Convert Selection for iPod" to create an MP4 movie. If you're dealing with Web video or DVDs, however, you'll likely need another conversion tool. Also, in my experience, iTunes conversion is mighty slow.
Plato DVD to iPod Converter
The iPhone and most video iPods support two basic video formats: MPEG-4 (.mp4 and .m4v) and MOV (QuickTime). The truth is that converting video files is all a matter of managing free codecs, and many programs will accomplish the same goal, but I've found a few interfaces and functionalities that I like. The most user-friendly tool I've found for ripping a DVD into an MP4 file for the iPod or iPhone is the free Plato DVD to iPod Converter. Simply hit Open, select your DVD location, and hit OK. You'll have an iPod-ready video before you know it.
CinemaForgeLite
An excellent bare-bones option for converting video formats is the slightly confusing Kate's Video Converter. It includes everything you need to transform video into MP4 or MOV files, but you may have to experiment a bit to find the codec you need. One of the more interesting video converters I've seen recently is CinemaForgeLite, a tool for grabbing Web movies from sites like YouTube and transforming them into iPod-ready video files. A simple wizard walks you through the process, or an advanced interface lets you customize settings like frame size and bit rate. It seems to work best on YouTube and major video-sharing sites

To make more robust arrangements try the appropriately named freeware app keyboard Shortcuts(http://www.soft45.com/details%20/Keyboard-Shortcuts-09912.htm) .With such shortcuts you can launch any file ,perform system commands (such as logging off and shutting out),or open any URL in a browser. One shortcut can even perform several of these actions, simultaneously or in sequence .
For even more complex shortcuts ,get a macro recorder that can capture detailed steps and repeat them on command. The workspace Macro Program (www.tethyssolutions.com/product.htm) can capture anything you type ,as well as mouse movements and clicks.
Just click New to record a macro ,and click Stop after you have done all your typing and mousing .If you want to assign keyboard shortcuts to your macros, you will need a separate program .
